SOCCEROO Alex Brosque has continued his good goalscoring form this season with a 96th-minute strike to earn second-placed Shimizu S-Pulse a 1-1 draw at home to Cerezo Osaka in the J.League on Saturday.
The former Sydney FC man, who netted a brace in Australia's 4-2 World Cup qualifier win over Saudi Arabia in February, struck with practically the last kick of the contest.
Brosque had played the full game in midfield before the ball fell invitingly to him for the last-gasp equaliser.
The goal came with Cerezo desperately trying to hold out Shimizu, who launched a cross into the box which fell kindly to Brosque and he gleefully tapped home from close range after a penalty area scramble, prompting wild celebrations.
The strike was Brosque's fifth goal this term in all competitions, and helped second-placed Shimizu keep in touch with leaders Vegalta Sendai who drew at Gamba Osaka.
Elsewhere, Joshua Kennedy played 89 minutes in Nagoya Grampus' 1-0 win over Vissel Kobe despite being replaced at half-time last week after re-aggravating a back problem.
Kennedy looks likely to be fit to play in next week's vital ACL clash with Central Coast, having missed almost a month previously with a back injury.
