EXCLUSIVE: Sydney FC hero Alex Brosque says his side felt disappointed leaving Telstra Dome with one point and not three after their 0-0 draw with Melbourne Victory on the weekend.
“It did feel like two points dropped, but in saying that, we've now got seven points from nine so it's not too bad for us,” he said after landing in Sydney on Sunday.
Brosque admitted Victory “came out firing” in the second stanza after Sydney had dominated parts of the first half: “So I guess it was a fair result, but you always want the three points.”
The FC striker clearly relished having Juninho alongside him when the Brazilian ace was brought on in the second half.
“With his shoulder, I think it was felt it was better for Juninho to come on late when the game opened up," said Brosque.
"I really think he put his mark on the game.”
Brosque hit the post with a terrific low shot in the second stanza and provided FC with an outlet as Victory poured forward in search of a winner in an exciting second 45 minutes.
“Clint made some great saves in that second half but we also opened them up a bit,” he said.
And according to the Socceroo striker, new signing Michael Bridges enjoyed the atmosphere created by the over 30,000 fans at Telstra Dome.
He added: “It's awesome when you hear that crowd as they get behind their side.
"We now go to Wellington this week and I think we'll go there with confidence. We're unbeaten under John Kosmina in three games now.”
