The 24-year-old striker made a belated start to the campaign in last week's win over Central Coast Mariners and with only a year left on his existing deal, knows every match counts.

Brosque said: "My current deal runs out at the end of this season and I'm hoping to sit down with the club and talk about extending it.

"Nothing's been said as yet but I'm a Sydney boy and I'd love to stay."

Brosque and his teammates face Perth Glory at the Sydney Football Stadium this weekend, opponents that provide bitter-sweet memories for the forward.

A last-gasp strike from Brosque rescued a point for Sydney FC in last season's 3-3 draw at Members Equity Stadium in round eight.

However, Glory then pulled off a shock 4-2 victory at the SFS just before Christmas.

Brosque is hoping for a much happier outcome this time and believes Glory will have a tough time in trying to breach Sydney's last line of defence.

He said: "Clint Bolton has made a great start to the season and when you look back to the first match against Melbourne, he really saved us in the first 10 minutes or so of that match.

"As a goalkeeper, when you are giving off that type of aura then it just fills strikers, and everyone else in the team, with confidence and you're left feeling comfortable."
