Arzani has impressed many fans in his nine games for Melbourne City and many have dubbed him worthy of playing for the Socceroos.

The City midfielder is eligible to play for both the Socceroos and Iran because of his parents' nationality, but he has represented Australia at junior level.

City are coming off a 4-0 home loss to Sydney FC and Brosque said he has been impressed by Arzani this season.

While the Sky Blues skipper said the Socceroos needed to be treated with respect, he felt there was something different about Arzani.

“That’s just Australian media, someone plays two or three good games and they should be Socceroos, but to be fair to Daniel Arzani, I think he’s been fantastic and he’s a kid for the future,” Brosque told FourFourTwo.

“If he’s weighing up his options at the moment of who to play for, then we have to get him sooner because we don’t have players like him.

“He’s a little bit different, you can see he’s special and regardless of him having played nine games, you can see that he’s different from most young kids coming through.

“He’s got something special. We need to cap him as soon as possible to be honest.”
