The Sky Blues have claimed just one point from three ACL matches, including two home defeats to sit bottom of Group H.

Sydney next face Kashima Antlers and Suwon Bluewings away in the ACL, leaving them with a mountain to climb to progress.

"We've done it the hard way," Brosque told Fox Sports.

"We know it doesn't get any easier. We've got two very hard away trips.

"We've got to stay positive and go for it.

"We're a team that doesn't shy from a challenge and doesn't back down.

"We've seen that over the last two years. while there's something left we'll keep going."

Brosque acknowledged he was disappointed to lose to the Japanese side despite having a good gameplan, saying they fell down at two set-pieces.

"We put a lot of emphasis on wininng this game," he said.

"We knew we had to. We came out okay. We had a good gameplan.

"You can't switch off in this competiton and they punished us.

"The game plan we had was to try and frustrate them. The japanese are very technical, they're very good, so you have to be careful otherwise they open you up very easily.

"We saw that in the first game against the Koreans. We tried to keep structured and organised, which I thought we were.

"In the end it was two set pieces which killed us."
