The French-born striker moved to Hull on Friday after completing a £3million deal from Ligue 1 side Evian TG.

The Ivory Coast international is not known for being a prolific goalscorer but Bruce insists his physical attributes are not dissimilar to Benteke's and they will allow him to compete well in the English Premier League.

Benteke scored 19 league goals last season and attracted interest from several clubs before signing a new deal at Villa on July 19.

"He is something different to what we have got. He is big, strong and powerful and he likes to run in behind a little bit, which we haven't had a lot of," Bruce told talkSPORT.

"You look at Benteke before he went to Aston Villa, he didn't have a prolific goalscoring record but he had all the attributes to play in the Premier league.

"He is big, strong, powerful and quick, and our boy is a little bit like that too."

Sagbo is one of seven new players brought in by Hull as they prepare for their return to the Premier League with the 25-year-old joining George Boyd, Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies, Ahmed Elmohamady, Allan McGregor and Steve Harper at KC Stadium.
