Sydney FC officials have worked overtime to get Cazarine’s paperwork ready for this weekend’s must-win game against United.

They are now playing a waiting game in the hope that by Saturday night the 27-year-old forward gets the green light to commence his sky blue career.

And with the powerful forward arriving in good physical shape, say the club, the reigning A-League champions are hoping a new route to goal can be found from the head of the former Palmeiras and Guarani player.

A Bridge and Bruno “Killer B” pairing could be just the ticket as Sydney search for goals and points at the SFS on Saturday night.

Mark Bridge’s strike partner Alex Brosque has ankle ligament damage after an accidental clash with teammate Hayden Foxe recently.

Brosque is likely to be out for another couple of weeks thereby opening the door for Cazarine to make a much-needed impact. The timing couldn’t be better.

“I’m happy and we are happy because he is good quality and experienced enough,” FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Off the pitch Cazarine ticks the boxes. He’s married, settled and has a good attitude, say the club.

“We are now working as hard as possible to get the visa for him. If we did, then he will be available to play,” added Lavicka.

“I am very happy with the possibility to play with Sydney FC. Sydney FC is a big club in Australia and the last champion so it is a good opportunity for me,” Cazarine said.

“The club is very professional so I will do my best. We have good players and many good strikers like Brosque, Bridge and Kofi.

“I am tall and I can bring physicality. I think the coach has some great options in attack. The game is physical here and quicker and the more I train here the more I will adjust. I like it being physical.”

Cazarine added: “I heard many good things about the A-League back in Brazil.

"One of my friends [Anderson] and former teammates played for the Gold Coast and I spoke to him and he said the league and the country were both very good.

“I have only been here for a week so with one more week of training and spending more time with the players I will be ready to play. Whenever the coach wants me to play I will be ready.”

Sydney, winless in four A-League games and with just two points, desperately need to get back into their winning groove.

But Lavicka is maintaining his belief in a squad hit by untimely injuries this season. “Don’t give up, be patient and hard working,” was the advice to his players.

“We have improved our performance and most players improved their performance from the Brisbane game or Townsville [in earlier rounds].

“But we need to pick up points.”
