Mario Gomez grabbed a hat-trick as Bayern Munich moved to the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win at Kaiserslautern this afternoon.
The Germany international, who scored in Bayern's 1-0 win over FC Zurich on Tuesday, opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 37th minute before adding a second goal early in the second half.
He finished off the Red Devils in the 69th minute to take Bayern to the summit for the first time since May 2010.
Ivo Ilicevic was sent off for Kaiserslautern in the last minute to compound their woes.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund finished with 10 men apiece as they shared the spoils in a lively 0-0 draw at the BayArena - a result which leaves both sides two points behind the leaders.
Michal Kadlec was first to see red in the 64th minute and he was followed into the dressing room by Mario Gotze 13 minutes later, but neither side could score in a keenly-fought encounter.
Leverkusen had on-loan goalkeeper Bernd Leno to thank for some excellent saves in the second half after the hosts had held the upper hand in the first 45 minutes.

On Friday, Raffael scored the only goal of the game four minutes from time as Hertha Berlin recorded their first Bundesliga win at home for two years with victory over Stuttgart.
Since they beat Hannover in August 2009, they have failed to pick up three top-flight points on home soil owing to a dismal slump and a subsequent season in the second tier.
But Markus Babbel guided them home to a 1-0 success against his former club, with Raffael leaving it late to do the damage.
