Steve Bruce's men have made a steady start to life back in the top flight and sit 10th a quarter of the way into the campaign.

And Boyd, who was playing non-league football for Stevenage until 2007, stresses he does not want his Premier League dream to end any time soon.

"I'm still buzzing every time we go out there, it's unbelievable," he told The Hull Daily Mail. "With us doing so well, too, it's a great feeling.

"We want to be doing this year in and year out, we don't want this season to be a one-off.

"It's been a great start but we have to make sure we keep it up.

Boyd made his first league start of the campaign in a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on October 27, and feels he has adapted well to the pace of the division.

"I won't say I've found it easy by any means but I feel comfortable here," he continued.

"You obviously wonder how you're going to get on but I'm coping with the pace of games well and technically it probably suits my game more, it's more of a passing game here. The Championship can be a bit rough and ready with balls up into the box.

"The big difference is concentration. You've literally got to be switched on for 90 minutes. You come off with headaches you've got to concentrate so much. One lapse and you're punished.

"I feel as though I've done well. Whenever it came it was always going to be a case of me taking my chance, and I feel like I've done that. Long may it continue.

"I hope I've done enough to stay in for Saturday (Southampton away).

"That'll be up to the gaffer. I've just got to concentrate on doing the best I can in training."
