TIM Cahill has his sights set on the role of FA Cup final hero as he looks to make up for his semi-final shoot-out miss.
The Socceroos star failed to convert his penalty against the Red Devils on Sunday but his blushes were spared as Everton still progressed to the final.
Cahill breathed a big sigh of relief as the Toffees squeezed through to face Chelsea and the Australian says his miss won't cause him any lasting heartache.
He told the Liverpool Daily Post: "I felt confident when I stepped up to take the penalty but sometimes things go wrong.
"Mentally I feel fine now but hopefully when it comes around to the cup final, I'll score the winner and make up for it. But we are there.
"We've done it and I'm going to show how I can pick myself up."
Everton face Chelsea in the English Premier League today with David Moyes hinting that he may rest several players. It remains to be seen whether Cahill is one of them.
