SOCCEROOS superstar Tim Cahill is a certain starter for tonight's Asian Cup quarter-final against Iraq after Australia coach Holger Osieck declared the attacker fit to play.
Cahill had been in doubt for the Iraq clash after picking up a knock on his thigh in the 1-0 victory over Bahrain and subsequently missing two days of training.
Osieck, though, said at Friday's pre-match conference that Cahill, along with Brett Holman who had missed training on Thursday, were fit for the Iraq game.
"I can assure you the boys are ready," Osieck said.
"The reason why two of the boys didn't train was simply for treatment.
"Timmy for instance had a knock on his thigh in the dying stages of the game but our medical staff did a terrific job, he's definitely on the pitch tomorrow."
The news isn't so bright for Jason Culina (knee) who is expected to be unavailable.
David Carney (shoulder) and Luke Wilkshire (groin) should return after missing the Bahrain game, while Brett Emerton is suspended.
