Socceroo Tim Cahill could be set for an extended stint on the sidelines after being forced out of the FFA Cup final with a knee injury.
Cahill had opened the scoring on 53 minutes with a trademark header, before sustaining the injury and being replaced on the hour mark.
The Melbourne City man was clattered into by Sydney FC's Josh Brillante from behind.
The clash appeared to impact Cahill's left knee worst, with Fox Sports reporting a lateral knee ligament injury.
