SOCCEROO Tim Cahill will be the new face of legendary video game series FIFA 10 in Australia when it launches on October 1 - the first time an Australia has featured on the cover.
Electronic Arts today unveiled the first glimpse of the new cover which Cahill shares with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.
FIFA 10 marks the first time the 29-year-old Cahill and the first time an Australian has been featured on the pack cover in FIFA franchise history, while it is the fifth year the 23-year-old Rooney has appeared on the global pack cover of FIFA.
"It's an honour and pleasure to be part of the EA Sports FIFA franchise," said Cahill.
"There have been so many world class players appear on the cover and it is a great personal achievement that I am now joining some of the most talented players to be associated with this amazing football game."
The two football greats will be joined by numerous stars from all over the world on regional packaging, including Karim Benzema in France, Frank Lampard in the UK, Xavi Hernandez in Spain, Giorgio Chiellini in Italy, Bastian Schweinsteiger in Germany and many others all over the world.
