SOCCEROO Tim Cahill is excited to bring his English Premier League club Everton to Australian shores for the Toffees' pre-season tour.
Cahill, who scored in the Socceroos' 2-1 victory over Serbia last week, is back in Australia awaiting the arrival of his club teammates before they face A-League trio Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar.
"I think it is fantastic that Everton are going to Australia," Cahill told evertonfc.com. "It is fantastic for Australian football as well as Everton Football Club.
"Over in Australia there's a massive following because there's a lot of Everton supporters out there.
"This is also a great chance to visit the country and a great opportunity for Everton."
In 2008, Italian giants Juventus visited Australia to face Melbourne Victory in pre-season, while last year Premier League duo Fulham and Wolverhampton, along with Scottish giants Celtic toured Down Under.
For this pre-season, the Toffees will be joined by the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Rangers, Boca Juniors and AEK Athens.
Cahill added: "I think the Australian fans will be excited about Everton's visit.
"When I go back home and do signing sessions I meet Everton fans who come from all four corners of Australia.
"They are proud to support Everton. For a Premier League team to grace the shores of Australia is absolutely massive."
