INJURED Socceroo star Tim Cahill believes Nick Carle could be the key to unlocking the Qatar defence in Doha.

Cahill is heading back to England to recover his recuperation after foot surgery but will be keeping a close eye on events in Doha.
After failing to score against Iraq, Cahill feels Carle's inclusion could make all the difference.
He told goldcoast.com.au: "We need to create more chances, it doesn't look at the minute like we're going to make in-roads against teams.
"That's why I'd love to see Nicky Carle given a chance. He hasn't played yet under the new gaffer but he's so creative and has that ability to unlock teams. It would be good to see him let loose because he's so inventive and clever with the ball.
"He's one player I really admire. I think he's been under-estimated and under-valued by a lot of people
"He can come in and change a game and that's the sort of player we'll need against Qatar.
"Nicky brings us a different dimension, and can deliver something on a plate for the frontmen."
Cahill says Australia can expect a much tougher test than when Qatar were thumped in the first qualifying match between the two sides. He said: "This game is a test of character and nerve for us.
"The boys need to dig deep because they are up against a far better Qatar team than the one we beat 3-0 in Melbourne."
