Interest will be high in the 2007 Federation Cup with the maximum 16 men's and 8 women's teams having a shot at the title. Not only is there prestige in winning the longest running cup competition in ACT Football (since 1962) but due to the richest ever prize money on offer for the semi-finalists of each competition.

With only the first place team to progress in the men's draw to the prize money rounds, competition will be fierce. This will also be the first time that the Grand Finals will take place at night (Wednesday April 4 at McKellar Soccer Stadium).

Highlights for the opening round are:

Saturday March 10
Canberra FC will be hosting their Woden Valley Rivals at Tradies Hawker Enclosed at 4pm whilst Belconnen United and Weston Creek will be taking on each other in the men’s AND women’s competitions at McKellar.

Sunday March 11
Newly admitted Premier League teams, Queanbeyan City and Tuggeranong United will be testing their strength at 2pm at Riverside. It is rumoured that Frank Farina may be also on hand for some talent spotting in the ensuing game between Premier League Premier Cooma Tigers and Canberra City.
