Cardiff City have confirmed the signing of John Brayford from Derby County on a four-year deal.
The Premier League newcomers had an undisclosed bid for the full-back accepted on Thursday, with the player cleared to attend a medical and discuss terms with the Welsh club.
After those discussions his arrival was announced on the club's official website as Malkay Mackay's second signing of the close-season.
"Cardiff City is pleased to announce that John Brayford has signed for the Club from Derby County following the completion of his medical and paperwork," the statement read.
"The highly rated defender has signed a four-year deal at Cardiff City Stadium and will link up with his new team-mates ahead of City's pre-season fixture at Cheltenham Town on Saturday."
Brayford made 117 appearances for Derby during his three seasons at Pride Park and was an ever-present during the last campaign, but he admitted the call of the Premier League was too hard to turn down.
"When I heard Cardiff were interested in signing me then I was obviously very interested, especially at the prospect of playing in the Premier League and testing myself at the highest level," he said.
"Derby will always be a special club to me, but this was an opportunity I couldn't ignore."
