NICK Carle has vowed to pour everything into his bid to convince Pim Verbeek that he should be one of the chosen few on the Socceroos plane to South Africa next year.
Carle found himself back in the international picture for the Super June fixtures and was pleased with his part.
He has taken plenty of positives from the experience but he knows his best chance to convince Verbeek is a consistent campaign at club level.
Carle admits there were good and indifferent moments last season - for both player and club - and he is looking for more of the former this time out.
He told the Crystal Palace official website: "Hopefully this year we'll look to be more consistent at personal levels and at a team level because we want to keep pushing to end up higher in the table.
"Then obviously at international level I want to do everything possible to get into the squad, which is very difficult especially in my position.
"But the World Cup is essential for the end of the year so I want to be playing as much football as I can this season and as best as I can."
Carle is in pre-season training with the Eagles who are continuing their preparations in the USA.
