SOCCEROO Nick Carle is determined to join Lucas Neill and Brett Emerton in the Premiership next season after eyeing them enviously on TV.
The former Newcastle Jets hero has been impressing fans and critics with his performances with Bristol City this season, even if it hasn't brought any goals or assists so far.
But Carle's speed and skill on the ball have won praise from even rival fans.
Now Carle wants to take his game to the Premier League as City enter their final games of the season.
The Bristol outfit are currently in fourth place in the league, seven points off the joint leaders, West Brom and Stoke.
They looked near certainties for automatic promotion until a recent stumble - but Carle is determined to now come home with a wet sail and cruise through the promotion play-offs into the Premier League to join his idols.
"Hopefully that bad run is over now and we can pick up our form again," he told the UK's Daily Mirror.
"Some people might say that the pressure got to us over the last month, but I believe we're more than good enough to turn that around.
"The performance we put on tells us the form is back. Sometimes you play great football and don't get a result. We think the form is back, so let's hope we win next week to take it into the play-offs."
Just a year after plying his trade in the A-League where he was player of the year in 2007, Carle now believes he can make it in the English Premier League.
He added: "It's massive for me to get into the Premier League.
"When I came here it was a massive bonus knowing that the team was pushing for promotion. Every player wants to play at the highest level he can and there's no better league than the Premier League.
"I follow the other Aussies and how they're doing. I'm not one to watch much football outside my own games but whenever there's an Aussie player, I always turn on the TV to make sure they're doing well.
"Hopefully next season I'll be joining them."
