SYDNEY FC's superstar signing Nick Carle accepts he is going to be a marked man this season - but has warned opponents they better be super fit to shut him down.
As a marquee signing, the former Crystal Palace man knows that opposing teams will work hard to to try and limit his influence on proceedings.
He accepts that but warns they will have an exhausting time in trying to thwart him.
"It's going to happen to me, I just have to be smart enough to know how to deal with it," Carle told The Daily Telegraph.
"I do the right thing by the team and myself by creating space for the team and obviously get that sort of space myself and try to wear my player down.
"There's nothing harder than chasing someone for 90 minutes, so the harder it is for me, it's going to be hard for them."
Sydney will try to kick start their campaign when they travel to face Brisbane Roar this weekend but without the injured Alex Brosque.
Even full-strength Sydney sides have struggled to get the better of Roar in recent times though, with just one win in the last 10 meetings.
