SOCCEROO David Carney provided an assist as FC Bunyodkor won 2-0 away to Pohang Steelers in the Asian Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The Australian, who only recently joined the Uzbek club after a failed stint with Spanish second tier outfit Alcorcon, started and was replaced in stoppage time in the victory.
After Lutfulla Turaev gave Bunyodkor a first-half lead, Carney lashed in a vicious left-foot strike which forced a fine save from Pohang keeper Shin Hwa-Yong.
And on 77 minutes, Carney volleyed a ball forward into the path of Kamoliddin Murzoev who raced on to it, before coolly slotting it home.
In England's Championship, Adam Federici played a full game as Reading's superb run of form was halted after a 3-1 loss away to Peterborough.
Reading had gone ahead through Noel Hunt but Federici was beaten twice from set-pieces before the break, while he made fine saves from Lee Frecklington and Lee Tomlin to keep his side in the game. Paul Taylor, though, would eventually seal the win.
Elsewhere, Mile Jedinak played a full game and had a drive go over the crossbar as Crystal Palace kept alive their playoff hopes with a 1-0 win over Barnsley, while Neil Kilkenny was a half-time sub as struggling Bristol City lost 2-0 at home to Watford.
In Germany's DFB-Pokal semi-finals, Mitchell Langerak was an unused sub as Borussia Dortmund qualified for the decider after a 1-0 extra-time victory over second tier Greuther Furth.
