au.fourfourtwo.com understands that Carney may be on the move very soon, but that move won't be to an Australian club.

Carney, 25, had been spoken of as a potential Asian Champions League loan player for Central Coast Mariners.

The A-League club was hoping its alliance with the Blades would reap some rewards for the out of favour Socceroo flyer, but that now appears unlikely.

The former Sydney FC star is keen to get back playing and could see game time at Bramall Lane for the Cup clash with Charlton later today (Australian time).

He told au.fourfourtwo.com: "Obviously it's been disappointing I haven't played as much as I would've liked.

"I'm very keen to get game time and it's been frustrating but hopefully something will be sorted out sooner rather than later."

In other Aussie news, Aussie defender Trent McCLenahan has been attracting interest from Norway and Turkey.

The Hamilton Accies player, signed on a one-year deal from Hereford United at the start of this season, has impressed at the Scottish club following the player's Olympics campaign for Australia in Beijing last year.

McClenahan came through the youth ranks at West Ham and had loan spells with MK Dons before two years with Hereford.
