Juventus maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season thanks to two goals from Fabio Quagliarella, a performance the caretaker coach believes will inspire the rest of the squad.

"The match wasn't easy for us because Chievo came here and shut up shop," he told the club's official website.

"We had to bide our time, but in the end we ran out deserved winners.

"We didn't stop playing after the second goal either, we were always looking to score, and if we keep doing that we can only become better still. That's the mentality we have in this team.

"Quagliarella is in superb form at the moment as he proved tonight. I'm happy for him, and also for the new lads (Paul) Pogba, Lucio and (Mauricio) Isla, who all did well today."

Lucio and Kwadwo Asamoah, two of Juve's summer acquisitions, echoed Carrera's thoughts.

"We played with great intensity and this has to be our mentality. We need to be aggressive and always play with the desire to win," the Brazilian defender said.

"I'm happy I've managed to make a speedy recovery from my recent injury. Everyone has a part to play in the squad and we need to make sure we’re ready in order to make the team even stronger."

"It's easy to play with these guys," said Asamoah.

"I owe it to my team-mates if I've settled in so well. We've come on a lot since the Super Cup against Napoli, and are improving after each game. This is a team that runs, battles and never lets up."
