The Portugal international signed a one-year agreement with the French club on Tuesday, and has the option to extend his deal for an extra year.

Carvalho spent three seasons at the Bernabeu, and was part of the side that earned 100 points on the way to the 2011-12 Liga title.
"I am very happy to join AS Monaco FC and participate in this new adventure," Carvalho told the club's official website.
"This is a new challenge for me."
The centre-back has enjoyed an illustrious career since gaining prominence as part of the Porto team which won the UEFA Champions League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
He subsequently followed Mourinho to Chelsea, where he won two Premier League titles in a six-year spell, before again reuniting with his fellow Portuguese at Real Madrid.
