A recent report in Marca suggested club captain Casillas and his deputy Sergio Ramos had threatened to leave Madrid if Mourinho was to stay at the club, although club president Florentino Perez has fiercely denied the rumour.

"The atmosphere in the dressing room is not exactly good. It's common knowledge that Mourinho does not communicate with his players anymore," Carbonero told La Jugada.

"The dressing room is divided at the moment. We will have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season and whether Mourinho will leave."

The Portuguese has a contract with Madrid until 2016 after signing a new four-year deal at the end of last season, but several Spanish publications expect the former Inter Milan coach to leave the club at the end of this season.

Real meet arch-rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg on Tuesday.
