Victorian Training Centre 0
Melbourne Knights 4
(Jacob Colosimo (2), Tomislav Uskok, Own Goal)
@ Knights Stadium

MELBOURNE Knights moved further clear of the relegation zone with a 4-0 thrashing of the Victorian Training Centre.

The Knights scored twice in each half with forward Jacob Colosimo bagging a brace in the comfortable win that saw them shoot six points clear of Springvale White Eagles.

Colosimo struck first before an own goal helped the Knights on their way.

Mid-season signing Tomislav Uskok tapped in a rebound after another Colosimo shot to wrap up the points before the forward struck again soon after.

VTC are second last but cannot be relegated.

Bentleigh Greens 4 (Wayne Wallace, Scott Bulloch, Ryan De Vries, Billy Liolios)
Melbourne Knights 0
@ Kingston Heath Soccer Complex

BENTLEIGH Greens produced a stunning second half to belt the Melbourne Knights 4-0.

The Greens exacted revenge for the thrashing handed to them at Knights Stadium in round five.

The visitors enjoyed the better of the first half, but Bentleigh went ahead through Wayne Wallace seven minutes before the interval.

After the opener, they dominated the final half hour as Scott Bulloch, Ryan De Vries and Billy Liolios all got on the scoresheet.

Knights midfielder Shaun Romein also saw red for a rash challenge.

The Greens remain out of the top five on goal difference, while the Knights are six points clear of the relegation zone.

Green Gully Cavaliers 4 (Mathew Sanders (3), Jason Hayne)
Richmond 2 (Michael Ferrante, Antun Kovacic)
@ Green Gully Reserve

A MATHEW Sanders hat-trick helped Green Gully move into the top five with a 4-2 win over Richmond.

The in-form striker struck twice in a first half dominated by the Cavaliers before the Eagles worked into the contest in the second 45.

Sanders put Gully 2-0 up at half time when he capitalised on a cutback from Jason Hayne and a rebound.

Richmond midfielder Michael Ferrante pulled a goal back on the hour mark, curling a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.

Sanders restored the two-goal advantage when he completed his treble 10 minutes later, again tapping in after Eagles goalkeeper Stjepan Gal had parried a shot from Andy Vargas.

But a Ferrante set-piece set up Richmond defender Antun Kovacic to flick into the bottom corner and keep the Eagles in with a hope of taking something away from the reigning champions.

Hayne put an end to that when he broke clear in stoppage time to make it 4-2.

The Cavaliers are in the top five, while Richmond are six points clear of the bottom two.

Northcote City 2 (James Kalifatidis, Jason Trifiro)
Hume City 4 (Zoran Petrevski (2), Atilla Ofli, Richard Cardozo)
@ John Cain Memorial Park

HUME City produced a dominant opening on their way to a 4-2 win over Northcote City.

Attacking trio Atilla Ofli, Richard Cardozo and Zoran Petrevski all found the net inside the opening 15 minutes to give Hume a dream start.

Petrevski completed his brace to make it 4-0 in the 63rd minute before Northcote pair James Kalifatidis and Jason Trifiro added some respectability to the score line.

Hume are top of the table on the back of the win, while Northcote are a point adrift of the top five.

South Melbourne 1 (Carl Recchia)
Oakleigh Cannons 0
@ John Cain Memorial Park

A CARL Recchia goal was enough to give South Melbourne a 1-0 win over the Oakleigh Cannons.

The midfielder struck on 55 minutes, six minutes after coming on as a substitute, to give South an important win.

Eddie Krncevic’s side is within two points of top spot and second-placed Oakleigh.

Springvale White Eagles 0
St Albans Saints 2
(Matthew Demo (2))
@ White Eagles Stadium

ST Albans Saints recorded back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory at Springvale.

A brace from Matthew Demo, which included a goal in each half, put the Saints within three points of the White Eagles and nine of what would be an incredible run to safety.

With a game against the Victorian Training Centre mid-week, St Albans could leapfrog Springvale and move off the bottom of the table.

Heidelberg United 3 (Saso Alexovski (2), Osagie Ederaro)
Dandenong Thunder 1 (Ashley Scott)
@ Olympic Park (Village)

HEIDELBERG United have won their blockbuster clash against Dandenong Thunder 3-1.

Forward Saso Alexovski struck either side of half time to take his tally for the season to 10.

Thunder’s Ashley Scott pulled a goal back from the penalty spot on 64 minutes, but Osagie Ederaro also found the net for the 10th time this season a minute later to restore United’s two-goal advantage.

The win keeps United in fourth while Thunder are in eighth, two points from the top five.
