The Slovakia international has started only two Barclays Premier League games for the relegation-threatened Baggies.

Albion boss Tony Mowbray has preferred the long-serving Paul Robinson as his first-choice left-back.

And Cech is concerned his lack of first-team football could cost him the chance to play in the 2010 World Cup finals.

Cech told BBC WM: "My season here at West Brom is the worst of my career. For sure I'm looking to a change of club because of this year.

"I think things won't change here, I need to leave to play whole games.

"I'm a national player, I need to play. If I don't play I will lose my place in the national team.

"We are first in the qualifying table now, we have a big chance to go to the World Cup, and if I'm not there I'd be very sad."

Cech, capped 34 times by his country, may come in out of the cold on Saturday for the home league game with Wigan.

Robinson is battling to overcome the ankle injury suffered against Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend.

Ironically, one of Cech's two league appearances was in Albion's 2-0 home win against Spurs in December when he turned in an impressive display.
