Celta Vigo's relegation worries were significantly worsened as they crashed to a demoralising 3-0 home defeat to Real Mallorca.
First-half goals from Juan Arango and Fernando Varela were capped off by Maxi Lopez's strike 10 minutes from time as the mid-table visitors raced to an easy win.
The defeat leaves Celta in the drop zone on 30 points, just three clear of second-bottom Real Sociedad.
It was a commanding display from the visitors and they began to cause problems from the onset, eventually penetrating the home goal after just 10 minutes.
Victor Casadesus held the ball up well inside the penalty area before laying off to Arango, who lashed a right-foot effort past Jose Pinto from just outside the box.
The early goal allowed Mallorca to settle and they began to play some tight, attractive football.
Guillermo Pereyra tried his luck in the 15th minute with a reflex shot on the turn but this time Pinto was equal to it.
It was one-way traffic however, and Arango again came close with a shot from range which only narrowly cleared the crossbar.
Mallorca registered a stylish second in the 23rd minute when Varela sent a screaming effort flying into the top left corner from all of 30 yards.
Varela made absolutely mistake with his audacious rasp, which took everybody by surprise and sent the travelling support into ecstasy.
The hard-working defender almost doubled his tally just a minute later with a much easier chance than his first, but this time his 12-yard volley went over.
Aranga and Varela were causing Celta all sorts of problems and made it almost impossible for the hosts to create any meaningful opportunities of their own.
Anderson Nene provoked the first real save from visiting goalkeeper Miguel Moya seven minutes before the break but his 30-yard effort was speculative and easily stopped.
Celta begun the second-half with more intent and when Angel Lopez crossed into the danger area, Habib Bamogo was on hand to head goalwards, but had to watch his effort scrambled off the line by Hector Berenguel.
Nene then went close with a free-kick but Moya was able to get across his goal and tip brilliantly around the post.
The Celta pressure was growing, but their gung-ho approach left them susceptible to the counter attack and Jonas Gutierrez almost made it three for Mallorca with a rising shot from around the penalty spot.
Angelos Basinas missed a glorious chance to get another for Mallorca with a 72nd-minute header which he directed the wrong side of the post but at the other end Nene again went close, flashing a drive marginally wide.
Despite their improved efforts however, Celta were to suffer one further blow and when Maxi Lopez latched onto Varela's cross he had little trouble in slotting home for number three.
The win keeps Mallorca safe in 13th place but has Celta staring down at the drop, unless their fortunes can change in the remaining six games.
