Man of the match Aiden McGeady believes Celtic's new-look formation worked a treat in their 3-1 Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final win at Kilmarnock.
McGeady netted the final goal after Scott McDonald and Shunsuke Nakamura had put the Scottish champions 2-0 up and Danny Invincibile had pulled a goal back.
With target men Georgios Samaras and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink both injured, manager Gordon Strachan played McDonald as a lone striker, with McGeady, Nakamura and Shaun Maloney all providing support.
McGeady told BBC1 Scotland: "We are very happy with the win. We had a lot of good players on the night and played good football.
"Obviously we had a few players injured so we had a different formation tonight. It worked really well.
"Certainly in the first half anyway we played a lot of good football, created a lot of good chances and rarely gave the ball away."
McGeady was quick to pay tribute to his team-mates for the build up to his goal.
"To be honest, I was just there to finish it off," he added. "It was a great move, a good team move."
Next up for Celtic are games with Hearts and Manchester United and McGeady added: "As the saying goes, we'll take it one game at a time.
"Man United's in the back of our minds but Hearts on Sunday's the first game."
