The Scottish club have been linked with a loan deal for Arzani after he signs with Manchester City.

At 19 the Melbourne City winger was the youngest player at the 2018 World Cup.

Rodgers confirmed that talks have already taken place and he described the Socceroo as "an exciting young talent".

"He is obviously finalising his deal with Manchester City and there are talks with ourselves in order for him to come in," the Celitc boss said.

"It’s a possibility. He is an exciting young talent and we’ll see if we can get that organised over the next few days.

"It won’t be done for midweek. He has only just flown in and hasn’t trained. He was at the World Cup so it will be a number of weeks before he is up to speed."

The deal comes as Tom Rogic opened his account for Celtic after just eight minutes of the new Scottish Premiership season, scoring the first of Celtic‘s goals in their comprehensive 3-1 victory over newly-promoted Livingston.

He also played a key role in the second before making way after 77 minutes.
