Jeju won 1-0 at Seongnam despite the hosts making minimal changes to the team that won in such emphatic fashion in midweek.

Brazilian striker Daniel Neco got the all important goal with 17 minutes remaining to move the islanders four points clear of FC Seoul, though the second-placed team have a game in hand.

"It's frustrating that the players that played well against Suwon in midweek also played well against Jeju but lost," said Seongnam boss Shin Tae-yong after the match.

"It was a good game despite the lack of goals."

Gyeongnam leapfrogged Seongnam into third place with a 2-0 win at Suwon with both goals coming after the break.

Kim Yong-woo broke the deadlock with 20 minutes remaining and just three minutes later, Lee Yong-rae extended Gyeongnam's advantage.

"We tired in the last 20 minutes, we lost our concentration and made mistakes," said Suwon boss Yoon Sung-hyo after the match.

"Gyeongnam had rested for a week so it was a very difficult match for us."

Elsewhere, Ulsan Horangi strengthened their grip on the sixth and final play-off spot with a 3-0 win over Chunnam Dragons while South Korea's 2010 World Cup coach Huh Jung-moo got his first win with Incheon United as the team won 4-1 at Daegu FC.

In the day's other fixture, Busan I'Park and Gangwon FC drew 1-1.
