FourFourTwo’s preview of the best fixtures as the East Anglian Derby headlines this weekend’s action while high flying Wolves and Preston go head to head at Molineux.
IPSWICH TOWN VS NORWICH CITY (SUNDAY, 10PM AEDT)
The big talking point: East Anglian Derby. Throw the form book out the window as these two fierce rivals meet at Portman Road this Sunday. Norwich manager, Daniel Farke will get his first taste of the hotly contested derby while the experienced Mick McCarthy will hope that his Ipswich side can snatch all three points from the Norfolk outfit.
What will happen: Ipswich fans will come out of the woodwork to support their side. McCarthy doesn’t share the best of relationships with the club’s supporters, but come derby day you’ll be sure to see Portman Road at full capacity as they aim to declare themselves the “Pride of Anglia”.
What won’t happen: Ipswich Town won’t leapfrog their opponents on the Championship table. Heading into the encounter, the Tractor Boys sit two places and one point behind Norwich in 10th place.
Mick McCarthy’s men are on a two-game losing streak while the Canaries are experiencing an upturn in fortunes following their poor start to the season.
FFT predicts: 1-2
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS VS PRESTON NORTH END (SUNDAY, 1AM AEDT)
The big talking point: Wolves’ rise to the summit of the Championship. The Black Country outfit sit atop of the table after their impressive 2-0 victory over West Midlands rivals, Aston Villa. Having taken maximum points from their previous two encounters, Wolves also managed to keep back to back clean sheets.
What will happen: Either Diogo Jota or Leo Bonatini will get their names on the scoresheet for Wolves. Brought in over the summer, these two attack minded players have been responsible for Wolves’ surge up the ladder.

Jota has chipped in with seven goals while Brazilian, Leo has contributed five goals to the Black Country outfit.
What won’t happen: A 90th minute winner from the hosts. Preston travel to Molineux fresh from their 2-2 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Lilywhites held a comfortable 2-0 lead for most of the match before the West London side struck twice, with the equaliser arriving in the dying moments of the encounter.
FFT predicts: 1-1
BRISTOL CITY VS LEEDS UNITED (SUNDAY, 1AM AEDT)
The big talking point: Bristol City’s promising start to the season. The Robins are unbeaten in their last 10 Championship fixtures and are the form side heading into their encounter with Leeds.
Lee Johnson’s men struggled to break down a resilient Burton Albion in their last match which ended in a 0-0 stalemate. They’ll be hoping that goals are easier to come by this time around as they face a Leeds outfit which are hot on their heels on the Championship table.

What will happen: A repeat of last season’s result. The Robins don’t have the best of records against their visitors heading into this encounter, with eight losses and just the one win. However, their sole victory came in this fixture last campaign where Bristol triumphed 1-0 at Ashton Gate.
What won’t happen: Leeds won’t retain their spot in the Championship playoffs. As it stands, United sit in sixth place on the ladder in the final promotion qualification spot. Since the end of September, Thomas Christiansen’s men have lost three on the trot and a loss on Saturday will most likely cost them their playoff place and further derail their campaign.
FFT predicts: 2-1
