PREMIER League champions Chelsea and adidas have announced an extension to their partnership that will see the sports brand continue as an official sponsor for the next eight years.
The relationship was first launched in 2006 when the world's largest team photo was taken with 8,000 Chelsea fans lined up alongside the first team squad.
Chelsea and adidas have since undertaken a multitude of successful projects stretching from grassroots to international level.
This has included partnering to create 'Blue Pitches', free use courts which encourage young kids to participate in sport all across London, with plans in place to launch internationally.
Chelsea Chief Executive, Ron Gourlay, is delighted with the extension of the partnership, having said one of the key goals of both organisations is growth in key areas across Asia and North America.
The extension will include additional rights and opportunities to benefit both Chelsea and adidas, as well as build on their existing success as marketing partners. "The increased value of the deal reaffirms adidas' belief in the club's growing status in world football," said Gourlay.
