PSG went a goal up mid-way through the first half at Yankee Stadium, as Nene tapped in from close range, before Lucas Piazon equalised for the Champions League winners.

Italian coach Ancelotti was pleased with his team's efforts, and was particularly impressed by the pace at which the game was played.

"It was a good, intense game," he told Eurosport.

"It was a very good test against a very strong team. We controlled the game well."

"This game gives us the experience of playing against a top European team, and that is the level we want to get to."

As for Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo, he was also content with his side's draw.

Piazon's strike eight minutes from time ensured Di Matteo's team maintained their unbeaten pre-season record and the Italian was impressed with the 18-year-old, who netted his first goal in only his second senior appearance for the London club.

"He (Lucas Piazon) is still a young boy but he's been very impressive in training and in these friendly games that he's played for us," the former West Bromwich Albion coach said.

"It's not his natural position but at the moment we're a little bit short up front and in the two games he's been involved in he's played very well and scored a very good goal tonight as well.

"He's certainly one to watch for the future."

Star signing Eden Hazard was also on display and Di Matteo believes his new-look side are beginning to take shape ahead of their opening English Premier League fixture against Wigan Athletic on August 19.

"He (Eden Hazard) is a versatile player," he said.

"He can play on the wing and he can play in the middle or as a striker so at the moment that's how we're using him because we know he can play on the left as well so that's where we're using him.

"I think it depends on the options that we have and once everyone is back we'll see as we're still missing some players."

Next up for Chelsea are matches against the MLS All-Stars and AC Milan as they continue their US Tour, before returning home to play Brighton and Manchester City, while PSG face Kansas City Wizards and DC United in the coming days.
