Chelsea midfielder Deco insists that Carlo Ancelotti's squad is good enough to fit into any system he chooses to play.
The Italian coach has alternated between a 'diamond' formation at home and a '4-3-2-1' system on their travels.
It has brought the Blues three successive victories and Deco, 32, believes the club have the players to fit into either system with ease.
Chelsea are likely to revert to their diamond formation against Burnley on Saturday and that suits Deco, who will be hoping to get another chance in the starting line-up.
"We know that Carlo played this system in Milan many years and here I think we have good players to play in this system," said Deco.
"We have great midfielders and this system gives the option to play well because normally all the time we have one more player in midfield than the opposition.
"Sometimes it is hard to defend because if the other team has a good full-back that attacks much, the midfielder needs to go to close him because we don't have a winger to help. But all systems have disadvantages. I think to play this way is fantastic."
The Brazilian-born midfielder joined the club from Barcelona when former Portugal national team boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari, took the reigns at Stamford Bridge last summer.
Scolari was axed last February after the team began to falter and a spate of injuries left Deco out of the picture under interim coach Guus Hiddink.
He was expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer but has found a new lease of life under Ancelotti.
He scored a superb third goal in the 3-1 away win at Sunderland but the Portugal international insists there is more to his game than goals.
"My career has had some seasons where I didn't score too many goals, but I think the number of assists is normally the same," added Deco.
"At Barcelona for example, Ronaldinho didn't defend, Lionel Messi didn't defend, I couldn't be near the box all the time, I had to defend."
But he admits to having a preference for playing in a more advanced role behind the twin strikers.
"Of course when you play behind the strikers you have to help the strikers [attack], but you also have to help your team control the game because if you don't help with the distance between the midfield and the strikers, the connection isn't there," he added.
"Playing in this position you can lose the ball. If you are playing in front of the defence it is the danger zone but if you lose the ball near the penalty box the opposition is okay, no problem, you can't take more risks here."
Meanwhile Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov are expected to push for a place in Ancelotti's squad for the clash with Burnley.
Cole has not played a competitive game since rupturing his knee ligaments against Southend in the FA Cup last season.
But he has returned to training with the first team as well as new signing Zhirkov, who has missed the start of the league campaign with a knee problem.
However, Striker Andriy Shevchenko is likely to miss out on a place in Chelsea's Champions League squad with the Blues set to choose Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Nicolas Anelka and Daniel Sturridge ahead of the Ukraine international.
