The 29-year-old full-back was in the team that thrashed Arsenal 5-1 in the Carling Cup last season and after a short spell at Sunderland, his second game back after rejoining Spurs is against Arsene Wenger's men.

Spurs had not beaten Arsenal in nine years before their famous win, making the victory all the more sweet.

"Yes, a great moment, a fantastic night," Chimbonda said. "I know if we play well we can beat them, we have so many good players at the club."

Chimbonda has faced Arsenal already this season and his Sunderland team were set for three Barclays Premier League points until Wenger's men equalised at the death.

"This will be different because we won't look to defend, we will want to show our football and if we play well we can win," Chimbonda said.

"If we can it will be so important for our league position and, of course, the fans. We know how much it means to them."

Jamie O'Hara could be in contention for a place after recovering from a hip injury, while Robbie Keane is set to make his first appearance since rejoining Spurs from Liverpool.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp could partner Keane with Roman Pavlyuchenko or Darren Bent, who scored twice last week in the defeat at Bolton.

"I had a dip of form before the Bolton game but I'm back now," Bent said. "It came from nowhere and that can happen."

He added: "At times you feel like everything you hit will go in and it was the same in training before that, everything was going in.

"But in the last few weeks it changed and it felt like I was missing chance after chance.

"Sometimes it happens but I'm a confident guy and I'll stay positive. I know if I get into the positions I'll score the goals."

Arsenal have fallen behind in the title race and Redknapp admits it is a good time to play them, although he added: "No way are Arsenal a club in crisis.

"They are a fantastic club and have made a great signing in (Andrei) Arshavin. Arsene Wenger is a top manager and has done an unbelievable job there.

"But of course it would be a big lift for everyone around the club if we could beat Arsenal on Sunday. They are always big games against the Gunners.

"I think we have got a chance at home and it is probably a decent time to play Arsenal.

"They are a top team, Arsene has done an incredible job there, but at the moment their record tells you they are not playing as well as they did last year.

"However, they have still got some fantastic players, so it is always going to be a tough game."

Spurs head into the weekend in 14th place and Redknapp wants the points to get away from relegation trouble.

He added: "We have got to go on a run now and pick up enough points to get out of trouble, then we can look at the squad all again in the summer."
