Defending Asia Cup champions Iraq suffered a surprising 3-2 defeat at the hands of China in an international friendly match which was held at Khalifa Stadium.
China opened the scoring after only four minutes into the game through their Germany-based midfielder Hao Junmin, before Iraq levelled the scores through striker Younis Mahmoud one minute before the break.
Mahmoud gave Iraq the lead five minutes into the second half but Han Peng levelled the scores for China on 68 minutes from a penalty, just nine minutes before Li Xuepeng scored the winning goal for the Chinese.
Meanwhile UAE - who Australia play in a friendly on Wednesday - continued their preparations with a 2-0 win against Syria in an friendly at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Saeed Al Katheeri gave the lead to UAE three minutes after the hour mark, while Thiyab Awana made it 2-0 in the last minute of the game.
UAE were drawn in group D of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup finals along with defending champions Iraq, Iran and DPR Korea, while Syria are in group B with Saudi Arabia, Japan and Jordan.
