SOCCEROO Scott Chipperfield sent a message to potential suitors for his signature after firing a hat-trick in FC Basel's 5-0 win over FC Vaduz.
The result put Basel top of the Swiss Super League and left Chipperfield, who is leaving the club at the end of the season, with a chance of departing with a league winner's medal.
Chipperfield, who will form part of the Socceroos team to take on Uzbekistan in Sydney on April 1, has been in a rich vein of scoring form for his club side.
Against Vaduz Chipperfield scored his first goal after 11 minutes, grabbed his second 17 minutes later before completing his hat-trick just after half-time in the 54 minute.
On the receiving end of the 5-0 thumping was fellow Aussie Mark Rudan, who played the full 90 for FC Vaduz. Eugene Dadi was also in the Vaduz squad, but was an unused sub.
North Queensland Fury were chasing the signature of Chipperfield, but no deal could be struck, so his future remains uncertain, with a return to the A-League seemingly likely.
