EUROROOS WRAP: Ex-Socceroo Scott Chipperfield has helped FC Basel clinch the Swiss Super League title after a 3-0 win over FC Luzern on Wednesday evening.
Chipperfield was a 76th-minute substitute as Basel defeated Luzern to finish top of the standings, one point clear of second-placed FC Zurich.
Alexander Frei, Xherdan Shaqiri and Jacques Zoua got the goals as Aussie veteran Chipperfield celebrated his sixth league title with Basel since joining the club in 2001.
In Greece's UEFA Champions League play-offs, Socceroo Nathan Burns did not play as AEK Athens lost 2-0 at home to Panathinaikos in the final day of the season.
The result means Panathinaikos qualify for next season's Champions League while Burns' AEK are into the Europa League.
