Melbourne City have appointed Bruno Fornaroli as the club's captain for the 2016/17 A-League season.
Fornaroli, 27, was rewarded with the skippers' armband after his record-breaking first season in Australia.
The Uruguayan easily broke the league's scoring record, finding the net 23 times in the regular season and adding two more in the finals series as City bowed out in the semis.
His form saw him linked with a move away from the club, but City managed to tie him down to a marquee deal in the off-season.

Fornaroli replaces previous captain Patrick Kisnorbo, who hung up the boots and moved into a coaching role with the City Football Group at the end of last season.
The side also announced Matildas star Steph Catley as W-League captain for the upcoming season.
City begin their A-League campaign away to Wellington Phoenix on October 8.
