Melbourne City have confirmed two first pre-season fixtures in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs ahead of their FFA Cup opener.
The FFA Cup winners will play PS4 NPL Victoria outfits Oakleigh Cannons and Bentleigh Greens in July.
City travels to Brisbane in the Round of 32 to commence its FFA Cup title defence with an away fixture against Peninsula Power on Tuesday 1 at Dolphin Stadium and will utilise the next three weeks leading up to that competitive fixture with two friendlies and two closed-door intra-club matches at the City Football Academy.
Taking charge of the side in his first friendly match, Warren Joyce’s side will face the Cannons on Tuesday 18 July at Jack Edwards Reserve before taking on fellow Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 entrants Bentleigh Greens on Tuesday 25 July.

The dates for the intra-club matches will remain internal, meaning the two away friendlies will present the first opportunity for fans and members to see the City boys in action.
Oakleigh come into the contest sitting mid-table on the NPL Victoria ladder with only one point separating them in seventh and 10th placed side Bulleen Lions.
The Greens on the other hand sit third, three points from fellow FFA Cup opponents, Dockerty Cup winners and league leaders Heidelberg United.
