Melbourne City have defeated the Central Coast Mariners in a friendly match in Melbourne on Wednesday.
The fixture was held behind closed doors at City's Football Academy in Bundoora, with City prevailing 3-2.
Featuring strong line ups from both sides, it was City who struck first through Daniel Arzani in the 11th minute.
New Mariners signing Andrew Hoole levelled things up on 23 minutes, with the game locked at 1-1 at the halftime break.
Former Mariner Nick Fitzgerald restored City's lead, but it lasted just two minutes before Hoole grabbed his second of the afternoon.
However, it was City who triumphed, with Bruno Fornaroli netting the winner just after the hour mark.
Hoole did have the chance to secure a hat-trick from the penalty spot and level things up at 3-3, but he smashed his spot-kick into the crossbar.
