Bulut was released from former club Western Sydney Wanderers on 28 December and was tipped to be joining Thai club Chiangrai United.

However social media has been on fire with rumours Bulut could now be heading to A-League glamour club Melbourne City instead.

The 24-year-old former Sydney FC youth starred for the Wanderers in the 2014/15 season, playing nine games and scoring five goals.

He then had a brief stint for Greek side Iraklis before returning to Sydney's West in the current campaign but with disappointing results in front of goal from his six appearances.

The renegade forward was used mainly as a central striker but can also play on the wing in the front-third.

City are currently alternating between Tim Cahill and Bruno Fornaroli up front but Bulut is rumoured to serve as a replacement for the injured Corey Gameiro who is out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Melbourne City today wouldn't be drawn on the speculation and refused to confirm or deny the reports.

A club spokesperson added: “Melbourne City does not comment on media speculation relating to player transfers.”
