Melbourne City will defend their W-League championship crown after defeating new Premiers, Canberra United, 1-0 in extra time at GIO Stadium on Sunday.
In front of a crowd of 5072, Jess Fishlock scored the only goal of the semi final (107') after an epic battle in which neither team could break the deadlock in regulation time.
Meanwhile Canberra and Matildas firebrand Lisa De Vanna sparked a social media storm after escaping a sanction for this off the ball challenge on the goal scorer.

The reigning champions, overcame a mid-season slump to make the finals and will now take on Perth Glory in the decider after the WA outfit demolished Sydney FC 5-1 on Saturday.
