CARLTON Cole struck after just 53 seconds as West Ham rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw against Spanish visitors Villarreal at rain-lashed Upton Park.
Cole's early strike was cancelled out by Santi Carzola nine minutes before half-time as an entertaining contest ended in a draw.
The result meant the Bobby Moore Cup was shared by both sides, the game having been preceded by a ceremony to 'retire' the Hammers and England legend's number six shirt.
