COLOGNE coach Christoph Daum insists the club will not let up in their pursuit of Lukas Podolski.
The Germany striker's former club are keen to end his Bayern Munich nightmare by bringing him back to the Mungersdorfer Stadion.
But a host of other clubs have also expressed their interest in the forward, who is unhappy with his lack of first-team opportunities at the German champions.
Cologne only won promotion back to the Bundesliga last season and it is doubtful they would be able to last the distance in a bidding war for Podolski, but Daum claimed the club would not abandon their interest in the striker.
He told the Kolner Express: "Even if it may sound unrealistic, we are not allowed to give up on it. We have to keep on it without kicking up too much of a fuss.
"We need signings in defence, midfield and in attack - we need strengthening in each."
