A 20-year-old Colon fan was stabbed to death following the goalless draw with Godoy Cruz in Argentina's Apertura tournament.
Daniel Lopez was caught in the middle of a riot that took place in the stands just minutes after the match in Santa Fe had ended and was eventually stabbed five times.
He was rushed to Jose Maria Cullen hospital but tragically died in the ambulance. His brother is in a critical condition having also been stabbed.
The perpetrator was caught on the stadium's CCTV but police have yet to apprehend him.
It is not the first incident of this kind to have taken place at a Colon game as in 2006, TV cameras showed one person attacking another with a knife during an encounter between the Santa Fe-based side and River Plate.
