Simon Colosimo is set to be recalled to the Australia squad for Saturday's friendly against China after Vince Grella and Jason Culina were ruled out through injury.
Colosimo, who is on loan at Turkish club Sivasspor from A-League side Perth Glory, has not played since the 2005 Confederations Cup but will replace Culina who struggled during PSV Eindhoven's 5-1 defeat by Ajax at the weekend.
Parma's Vince Grella is also almost certain to miss out having struggled with knee and hamstring problems since the February friendly meeting with Denmark.
Internazionale's Carl Valeri, who is on loan at Serie C1 table toppers Grosseto, has been called into the squad to replace Grella.
Harry Kewell, Tim Cahill, Craig Moore, Josh Kennedy, Michael Petkovic have already been ruled out through injury, while Josip Skoko, Scott Chipperfield, John Aloisi and Brett Emerton have been excused by coach Graham Arnold.
"Grella's out," Arnold revealed.
"I spoke to Vinnie at length and he's very down. He hasn't trained since the Denmark game and on the weekend he sat on the bench and came on at the end, yet he's the captain.
"Jason Culina picked up an injury and our physio Les Gelis has talked to him but he's got ankle and groin problems which he's been carrying for weeks."
Middlesbrough's Mark Viduka, Mark Schwarzer and Brad Jones are set to join up with the squad in Hong Kong today following the FA Cup meeting with Manchester United yesterday.
