Brazil are set to stage the tournament - which features the winners of each regional tournament - as they step up their preparations for hosting the 2014 World Cup.

There are 238,450 tickets still yet to be sold, though this process has been held up by delays in the building and refurbishment of stadiums and subsequent assessments of their capacity. 

"Due to delayed stadium deliveries, we are only now in the position to conduct the seat allocations in each of the venues," FIFA marketing director Thierry Weil said. 

"Yet we are very confident that we will break another record for the FIFA Confederations Cup, with the Brazilians providing the global TV audience with a glimpse of what kind of stadium atmosphere to expect in 2014: full stands and a great reception for all teams in return for football at its best on the pitch."
The competition will kick off on June 15 when hosts Brazil, who won the competition in 2009, face Japan in Brasilia.
Luiz Felipe Scolari's side are likely to be well supported, with 97 percent of all tickets sold so far having been bought by Brazilians.
