SYDNEY'S Steve Corica has copped a two match ban for his studs-up challenge on Steve Pantelidis in last weekend's showdown with Melbourne Victory.
Corica earned an immediate red card in the 25th minute of the clash after he went in with the ugly tackle and faced an automatic one match ban.
But an FFA match review panel has doubled the suspension to two matches.
"The additional sanction was applied in line with the Football Federation Australia National Disciplinary Regulations which recommends a 2-4 match sanction (including the mandatory one match suspension) for violent conduct offences," said the FFA today.
Corica will miss Sydney FC's Round 8 Hyundai A-League match against Perth Glory and the Round 9 match against Adelaide United.
But he will be eligible for selection for Sydney FC’s round 10 fixture against Central Coast Mariners at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday, October 28, 2007.
